Former Indian pacer Siddarth Kaul has entered the Big Bash League draft, while 15 Indian women cricketers have also registered for the women’s tournament, Cricket Australia announced on Tuesday in Melbourne.Kaul, who represented India in three ODIs and three T20Is before retiring from international cricket last November, is the only Indian male cricketer in the BBL draft scheduled for Thursday. In the 54 matches he’s played in the IPL, the 36-year-old has claimed 58 wickets at an average of 29.24. He last played in the competition in 2021 and has also donned the jerseys of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals in his career. England’s James Anderson headlines the more than 600 international players who have registered for the league. Anderson, if selected, would become the league’s oldest player at 43 years of age.

Among the 15 Indian women cricketers, Kanika Ahuja, who plays for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Women’s Premier League and recently made her T20I debut for India, has registered for the tournament. Other notable Indian women cricketers include experienced WBBL players Jemimah Rodrigues, Shikha Pandey, Radha Yadav, and Yastika Bhatia.
