Month after marriage, wife laces chicken with pesticide, kills man | India News

GARHWA: A 19-year-old newly married woman allegedly killed her husband, Budhnath Singh, 22, on Monday by spiking his food with pesticide in Bahokudar village of Jharkhand’s Garhwa district, reports Q A Hadi.Sunita Singh, who was from neighbouring Chhattisgarh, was married to Budhnath on May 11. His mother has filed a complaint with police, alleging that Sunita poisoned Budhnath as she did not like him despite both families trying to convince her to live with him. She alleged that Sunita had tried to poison Budhnath by spiking his food twice before. However, he was saved on both occasions as he had refused to eat the food prepared by Sunita after a fight with her, his mother claimed.On Sunday, the wife cooked chicken and secretly laced it with pesticide. The man loved chicken and couldn’t resist eating it. Monday morning, he was found dead. DSP Rohit Ranjan Singh said initial probe suggested the wife’s hand in the murder. “She has been arrested and sent to judicial custody,” the DSP added.
